New York City Hall, a historic landmark, underwent a restoration project to enhance structural resilience and ADA compliance. Completed on schedule and under budget, the project included replacing steps, installing modern amenities, and ensuring safety while the facility remained operational. CAFCO Group provided construction management services including supervision, inspection, reporting, cost control, and processing of project documents.
Constructed in 1810-1812, New York City Hall, a National Historic Landmark, has significant historical, architectural, and civic importance. This project restored and reconstructed the existing steps, promenade, and supporting structures to add structural resiliency and sustainability to a historic structure while matching the original architectural elements in the 1810 design. The scope of work entailed replacement of the steps’ granite treads and risers, installation of new granite pavers in the building’s portico, restoration and waterproofing of the historic brick-lined vault under the stairs and added audio-visual and electrical outlets to better accommodate public events hosted regularly on the steps. The front of City Hall also received a modern lift, ramp, walkway, and handrails to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. A new automatic button-activated entry is now also in place for the very first time. All construction on this high-profile project was coordinated in an occupied government facility which operates 24/7. The project, managed by the NYC Department of Design and Construction, was completed on schedule and below the original budget. CAFCO Group provided services as a part of an on-site Construction Management team, including field supervision and inspection of work in place, project status reporting, review of contractor’s schedule updates, cost control and processing of RFIs, submittals, PCOs and payments.
Project Management services oversaw concurrent projects at the World Trade Center site and Oculus for the Port Authority of NY/NJ, encompassing renovations, repairs, upgrades, and landscape projects while ensuring minimal disruption to operations and public safety. Services spanned from project initiation to closeout, covering budgeting, team management, progress monitoring, payment processing, risk management, and contract compliance.
Project Management services were provided on multiple, concurrent projects at the World Trade Center site and Oculus for the Port Authority of NY/NJ. Projects included various interior and exterior renovations, structural repairs, MEP system upgrades and plaza landscape/hardscape projects. All construction was performed in high security, occupied areas and coordinated to minimize impacts to PANY/NJ operations and the heavy pedestrian and vehicular traffic at the site, while prioritizing the safety of the general public. Project Management Services provided from project initiation through construction closeout, including developing initial project budgets and scope of work, procurement and management of the design & construction teams, monitoring and reporting on projects’ status to ensure compliance with established budgets and schedule milestones, approval and processing of consultant and contractor payments, implementing risk management procedures, and ensuring compliance with all contract requirements.
The project revamped a 12,000 sq ft school building and site, making it ADA compliant, upgrading utilities, MEP systems, kitchen, restrooms, and landscape. Construction management oversaw contractor coordination, safety compliance, and progress tracking.

Services encompassed document control, submittal preparation, payment requisitions, compliance reporting, and project closeout.

Gotham Eye Medical Clinic, a leading ophthalmology facility in the Bronx, completed a 3,700-square-foot interior fit-out with advanced medical equipment installation, meeting schedule and budget goals without change orders. CAFCO Group managed construction, inspections, reporting, and safety protocols to ensure successful project delivery.
Gotham Eye Medical Clinic is an ophthalmology clinic that provides primary vision care, laser cataract surgery, glaucoma treatments and diabetic eye care utilizing state-of-the art technology and techniques. The project involved a 3,700SF interior fit-out, including medical equipment installation on the second story of an occupied building in the Bronx, NY. Project was completed and delivered on schedule and within the targeted budget, without incurring any change orders. CAFCO Group provided Construction Management services, including construction inspection services, project status reporting, review and processing of PCOs and payments, as well as overseeing the Contractor’s site safety protocols.
